Rose

This was an experiment.  First I took photos of some Anniversary roses Joe gave me.  Three different color roses used here .   I imported them into Artrage, then layered them on top of one another, with varying transparencies.  After that, I used the airbrush to play with highlights, shadows, and colors.  I like the way the petals appear transparent, giving it a surreal look.

Flowers, leaves, and the trim on the pot are painted with textured Artrage stickers which I designed (my first ones ever).   Artrage "stickers" are sort of like brushes that you paint with.  The rest is done with pallet knife and airbrush.

 

A creepy-cute Easter

Couldn't decide between cute 'n fuzzy or glass, so here's both.  A project in mixing up all sorts of textures, patterns and layers of varying transparency.  Originally I made the grass showing through the eggs, but without going through all the intricacies of accounting for refraction it just didn't work.  Good enough.
